Old Academy Players proudly presents OUTSIDE MULLINGAR written by award winning American playwright, screenwriter, and theatre and film director John Patrick Shanley and directed and produced by Christopher Wunder. This 2014 Tony Award Nominated play runs September 16, 17, 23, 24, 25, 30, October 1, and 2, 2016 at the historic East Falls theater.
From the author of the play, Doubt, A Parable, and the film, Moonstruck, comes OUTSIDE MULLINGAR, a romantic comedy set in rural Ireland. Anthony and Rosemary are lovelorn farmers who haven’t got a clue when it comes to love. These hopeless singletons will need to overcome a bitter land feud, familial rivalries and their own romantic fears to find happiness. Full of dark humor and poetic prose, John Patrick Shanley’s tenderhearted portrait reminds us it’s never too late to take a chance on love. The stellar cast includes Ben Kendall as Tony Reilly, Rusty Flounders as Anthony Reilly, Barbara Hannevig as Aoife Muldoon, and Tiffany Brink as Rosemary Muldoon.
