The Gilbert & Sullivan Society of Chester County [http://www.gsschesco.org/] presents one of the most beloved operettas of all time, THE MIKADO or The Town of Titipu. Set in a fancy hibachi restaurant, this modern staging will offer a new twist on an old favorite.
Nanki-Poo, the son of the Mikado, arrives at Titipu Hibachi Restaurant in disguise and looking for Yum-Yum, his beloved. Yum-Yum however, was already betrothed to Ko-Ko, the head chef, but Nanki-Poo has since learned that Ko-Ko has been condemned to death for flirting; and he has come to claim Yum-Yum as his true love. THE MIKADO is a hilarious comedy about love lost and found, complete with scandals, corrupt politicians, a joyous wedding, and a vengeful health inspector who is out for blood!
As usual, THE MIKADO will be a fully staged production with costumes, set, and full orchestra.
