CINNAMINSON, NJ – Burlington County Footlighters offers laughs for the start of the new year with Neil Simon’s raucous, contemporary farce, RUMORS. Performances are weekends from January 15 – 24, 2016 at the Footlighters Playhouse in Cinnaminson, NJ.
Directed by Willingboro resident Scott Angehr, who previously directed BCF’s production of LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS, Simon’s farce opens at a tastefully appointed townhouse, where the Deputy Mayor of New York City has just shot himself. It’s only a flesh wound, but the couples gathering for a 10th wedding anniversary party are in for a truly unexpected evening. The first couple to arrive discover that the host is bleeding in the bedroom and the hostess is nowhere in sight. They must then get “the story” straight before other guests show up, after which the confusion and miscommunication mount to ever-increasing comical heights.
Angehr directs a cast that includes Gary Werner of Somerdale and Corrine Hower-Greene of Edgewater Park as Ken & Chris Gorman; Paul Sollimo of Maple Shade and Megan Shafranski of Bordentown as Lenny & Claire Ganz; Greg Northam of Haddon Heights and Valerie Brothers of Maple Shade as Ernie & Cookie Cusack; Dan Brothers of Maple Shade and Rachel Comenzo of Philadelphia as Glenn & Cassie Cooper; Glenn Guarino of Delran as Officer Welch; and Elizabeth Deal of Marlton as Officer Pudney.
Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 8 pm; and Sundays at 2 pm at The Playhouse, 808 Pomona Road in Cinnaminson, NJ. General admission tickets are $18. For reservations or additional information, call 856-829-7144 or visit www.bcfootlighters.com.
