South Camden Theatre Company Announces 2015 – 2016 Season
Featuring productions of CHARLIE VICTOR ROMEO, HOUSE OF BLUE LEAVES, A LOVELY SUNDAY FOR CREVE COEUR and Four One-Act World Premiers
CAMDEN, N.J. — March 23, 2015 – The South Camden Theatre Company, a nonprofit professional theatre organization located in Camden, New Jersey announces its eleventh season for 2015 and 2016 featuring works written by Robert Berger, Patrick Daniels, Irving Gregory, John Guare and Tennessee Williams.
Opening the eleventh season October 16 – 31, 2015 is the regional premiere of CHARLIE VICTOR ROMEO written by Robert Berger, Patrick Daniels and Irving Gregory and directed by Joseph M. Paprzycki. The Drama Desk award-winning drama is based on verbatim transcripts from six real aviation accidents and incidents as recorded in the flights “Black Box” Cockpit Voice Recorders.
Running from January 15 – 31, 2016 is HOUSE OF BLUE LEAVES written by John Guare and directed by Susan Jami Paschkes. The award winning dark comedy is set in Queens New York City in the 1960s against the backdrop of the Pope’s visit to New York; as a struggling songwriter tries to keep the pieces of his life together.
SCTC is proud to honor the American Veteran with SHADOWS OF WAR – A One-Act Play Festival March 18 – March 20, 2016. Four regional playwrights will present the world premieres of their one-act plays that focus on military veterans in four performances in this one weekend only event. South Camden Theatre Company is actively soliciting plays from regional Dramatist Guild members for consideration in this event.
Season 11 closes with the regional premiere of A LOVELY SUNDAY FOR CREVE COEUR written by Tennessee Williams and directed by Connie Norwood running April 29 – May 15, 2016. This rarely produced dramatic comedy from Williams centers on four eccentric women in mid 1930’s St. Louis who dream of a better life as they struggle to find happiness.
Producing Artistic Director Joseph M. Paprzycki states, “Our second decade of bringing edgy, relevant, professional theatre to our home in Camden, New Jersey will bring new voices as well as the words of old friends to our stage at Waterfront South Theatre”.
All performances will be held Friday and Saturday evenings at 8 p.m. and Sunday afternoons at 2:00 p.m. at the 96-seat Waterfront South Theatre located at 400 Jasper Street in Camden, New Jersey.
