Breaker One Nine. Breaker One Nine. This is MOTHER TRUCKERS comin’ atcha on Friday, March 6th at the Center Square Golf Club in Worcester, PA! This entertaining original comedy by local playwrights, Judith Sapperstein and Gary Murway, is presented by MCT (Methacton Community Theater) in partnership with the Center Square Golf Club in their continuing efforts to bring the dining plus live performance experience to the Montgomery County area! Mother Truckers runs Friday and Saturday evenings and Sunday afternoons through March 15th.
Maryland based truck driver Nelson Wormly has passed away leaving his widow, Maxine (Lauren Franz of Eagleville), owning more than their house on the new Peterbilt 389 they had just purchased. How is Maxine going to now pay the bills without losing her shirt? Well…learn how to drive a big rig and take over Nelson’s runs of course!
Maxine’s sister, Charlotte (Deb Marotta of West Norriton), offers to go along for company and assisted by Maxine’s lovable yet intensely micromanaging neighbor, Mary Ellen (Jennifer Hanahan of Schwenksville), they pack the truck to take off on their first run. It’s a rocky start for the two sisters but soon they are reassured after meeting fellow trucker “Sugar Daddy” (Keith Truman of King of Prussia) over the CB who promises to gives a “shout out” to the other gear jammers traveling the I-95 corridor to keep an eye out for the ladies on their maiden voyage. Things get complicated when they meet Roy McCoy (Geoff Randall of Schwenksville), a strange little guy with very big feet and a hooker named Trixie (Alisa Ambrose of Philadelphia).
MCT has been active in the community for over thirty-seven years performing throughout the Worcester, Lower Providence and Collegeville/Trappe area. Beginning in the fall of 2008, MCT began offering dinner theater to showcase local playwrights of our area and continues to be the only local community theater to offer a dinner theater venue. Under the direction of Michael Dobbins of Audubon with Loretta Rurode of Eagleville producing, MOTHER TRUCKERS marks the seventh dinner theater production by MCT and the most elaborate to date…a big rig on a stage?
